The Cheng Ming System
The Cheng Ming System

INTERNATIONAL CHENG MING MARTIAL ARTS ASSOCIATION

The name Cheng Ming derives its name from the " Tsun Nan Mountains" in China,  in Shanxi Province. Many religious wise men would go to these mountains for solitary meditation and stay there for many years developing their martial art skills and their personal world views and philosophy of life.

The pursuit of good health and long life included practice regimes, elements of healing and meditation. This turned their martial arts into a full and encompassing way of life, resting on deep philosophical premises and improving both physical and mental health.

The form taught today was founded by Grand Master Wang Shu Chin when he began to teach the system in Japan. He was 54 years old then and was never defeated by challengers and many combats become famous there. Grandmaster Wang Shu Chin had many students but only one disciple learned all his art and succeeded to extend the art to the world today. This is Master Wang Fu Lai of Taiwan. Grand Master Wang Shu Chin brought the system to Taiwan from China in 1948 where he remained teaching until his death in 1984.

Master Wang Fu Lai began his marital arts training when he was fourteen years and was instructed by his teacher, Grand Master Wang Shu Chin untill his death. What he learned in those last few months is still secret. Master Wang Fu Lai was bestowed the honour of “ Chairman” of Cheng Ming International to carry on the study and teaching of the art. Today, Master Wang Fu Lai oversees around 5000 students worldwide training and teaching others to become instructors and "indoor or inner room pupils.
